When you think Sydney, you think a bustling city famous for its harbour however that isn't the only body of water worth visiting on a trip to Sydney. Sydney is also endowed with some of the most beautiful beaches in the world. When the hustle and bustle of the city gets too much and you need a little bit of time out, head to one of Sydney's many sparkling beaches for a swim, some people watching or perhaps some fish and chips by the water.

There are 23 beaches along the eastern seaboard, many of which are conveniently located less than 15 minutes' drive from the CBD. You may not have time to visit them all, but there are a few beaches that should be at the top of your list. The most famous beaches include Bondi Beach, Coogee Beach, Maroubra Beach, Manly Beach and Palm Beach. Even if you don't have a car during your visit, the most popular beaches are easy to reach on public transport. Often this is actually the better option as parking around these famous beaches can be scarce.
